It is our immense pleasure to welcome and honoured to invite you to 15th KUA Annual Conference:
(UPDATES ON UPPER URINARY TRACT DISEASE), from 24-26 November 2022, at Salwa Al Sabah Hall.
Our aim in this three-day conference is to shed the light on the updates and advances in urology field (uro-oncology, Endourology, pediatric urology, renal transplant, urological trauma, reconstructive surgery, uro-technology and uro advanced diagnostics.
The conference lectures which will be given by distinguished international speakers and local speakers that the organizing committee and a panel of experts are involving in assembling an exciting scientific program that will cover aspects from basic science to clinical and therapeutic applications in relation to urology.
Also, there are Laparoscopic Principles Workshop, Andrology Workshop and Urology Nursing Educational Course.

Ayman Raees, MBBCh MRCSI FRCSC, is a laparoscopic and endourologist at the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) hospital since 2012.
He graduated from RCSI Dublin in 2002 and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2005.
He completed his training in Urology in June 2011 at McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario Canada. He then completed a one year laparoscopic and endourology fellowship at the University of Toronto in June 2012.
Dr. Ayman has the largest laparoscopic series in Bahrain having established a Urology laparoscopic program at the BDF Hospital. Moreover, he established a Saudi Board Urology Residency program that he directed from 2016 until he stepped down in 2020 to assume the role of Head of Surgery at his hospital.
Dr. Ayman has served as the Bahrain Urology Association Vice President from 2014-2017.

Dr. Alomar is an Endourologist at King Faisal Hospital and Research Center and a faculty member of King Saud endourology fellowship.
Before moving to King Faisal Hospital Dr Alomar Chaired the Devision of urology and the Director of KSU endourology fellowship, the only program graduating trained endourlogist in the Kingdom.
He also chaired the Saudi Endourology and laparoscopy group of the Saudi Urologic association for more than 10 years.
Currently, He is an Associate professor of surgery at the faculty of medicine AlFaisal University.
Dr. Mohammad Alomar is a graduate of the faculty of medicine at King Saud University in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. He completed his residency in Urology at Western University in London Ontario, Canada followed by a fellowship in Endourology then Laparoscopy and robotic urology at the same university in 2004.
Dr. Hasan is the head of urology and a consultant Robotic urologist at Mediclinic city Hopsital , he serves also as an adjunct clinical professor of urology at Mohammed Bin Rashid University in Dubai.
He is a fellow of the swedish board of urology ,the european board of urology and royal college of surgeons of England.
He was the former head of urology department at Danderyds University hospital in Stockholm Sweden.
Dr. Hasan graduated from Baghdad Medical school and completed his urological residency program at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm Sweden.
Dr. Hasan interested in robotic surgery and advanced endourology and performed more than 450 robotic urological procedures, Dr Hasan performed the first robotic paediatric procedure in UAE
Mr. Rajesh Nair is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a special interest in open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery with a particular focus in uro-oncology (bladder, prostate, kidney and testis cancer) and complex intra-abdominal urinary tract reconstruction. He is a U.K trained urological surgeon who completed his higher specialist training in London where he was awarded the FRCS (Urol.) and FEBU. He has completed advanced fellowship training in robotics, uro-oncology and reconstruction at St. George’s Hospital, Guy’s Hospital, London and the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
Dr Riyad is Secretary General for Pan Arab Continence Society (PACS ), CEO- Qatif Health Network.
Active Member of many prestigious National, Regional, and international societies and participated as guest speaker in many national and international meetings. He has published more than 25 publications including 9 chapters in major textbook in the field of urology and functional urology ( most important are the Campbell urology textbook which is the holy text of urology as the first one from Saudi and the gulf region to participate in this textbook, Neurology theory and practice ,Neurourology clinical Manuel book , lower urinary tract symptoms in adults, Neuro-urology textbook, urological management of the spinal cord injury patients ) in addition to more than 100 abstracts and presentations as a guest speaker in national and international conferences.
Finally, he lead a team to write the curriculum of Neurourology program that was approved by the Saudi health specialities to be the first Neurourology program in Saudi Arabia and Middle East.

Hassan Razvi MD FRCSC is a Professor in the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. He is also an Associate Scientist in the Clinical Research Division of the Lawson Health Research Institute. He served for 14 years as Chair/Chief of the Division of Urology.
During his career, Dr. Razvi has held a number of leadership positions including: Chair of the Canadian Urological Association (CUA) Research Scholarship Foundation, Chair of the CUA Guidelines Committee, Treasurer and President of the Northeastern Section of the American Urological Association (AUA) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Chief Examiner for Urology. His current leadership roles include the Northeastern Section’s representative on the AUA Board of Directors and he is also the Immediate Past-President of the Canadian Urological Association. He serves on the board of the Endourology Society. He is member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Endourology and Canadian Urological Association Journal.
His clinical and research interests include the metabolic and surgical aspects of urinary stone disease, and surgical device development. He has authored or co-authored 18 book chapters, and published over 190 peer-review articles. He has held research grant support from the Canadian Kidney Foundation, the Canadian Urological Association Scholarship Foundation, the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the US Department of Defense (DOD).

Dr. Sung Yong CHO graduated from Seoul National University and has worked for Seoul National University Hospital in Korea since 2019. As a surgical urologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating people with urolithiasis, benign prostate hyperplasia, stricture, and upper tract urothelial carcinoma, he is in charge of the Specialized Endoluminal Endourology-Stone (SEES) Center & Usability Test Center in SIMTRI (SNUH Innovative Medical Technology Research Institute) in the SNUH (Seoul National University Hospital). He is one of the members who are leading stone surgery such as flexible ureteroscopy surgery (f-URS), supine and miniaturized percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and Endoscopic Combined IntraRenal surgery (ECIRS) in Korea & East Asia. Dr. Cho is actively performing Anatomical Endoscopic Enucleation of Prostate (AEEP) using Holmium Laser (HoLEP) and bipolar electrodes (BipoLEP/TUEB) as well. He is the Korean representative of the Asian Guidelines of Urolithiasis Panels in 2019 and has successfully fulfilled many educational works and live surgeries in urology conferences as one of the founders of an international academic symposium named ETS (Endoluminal Technology Symposium) in Asia. Marilou Mendoza is a Wound Care Specialist Nurse at Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital, Umm Al Quwain, UAE. She is also a certified Rehabilitation Nurse and Diabetic Foot Care Nurse. Her career has evolved in the Wound Care Program Development in both clinical and education in the Middle East primarily on Prevention and Management of Pressure Injuries, Surgical Site Infection and Prevention of Moisture Associated Skin Damage. She was a speaker in the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP), International Council for Nurses (ICN), Societie Internationale d’Urologie (SIU)-UAE and Interdisciplinary Urology Care Consortium(IUCC). Her works were also published in the Wounds Middle East and Wound Care Advisor. Currently, the Chairperson of Wound Management Council of Sheikh Khalifa Initiative Hospitals in the Northern Emirates.
Safia Fayez Mohammed is a senior nursing professional from United Arab Emirates who holds an MSc in Health Care Management from Royal College of Surgeon Ireland and A PhD candidate in British University. Part of her leadership training was in USA Cleveland clinic Ohio. Her major research interest is in use of Artificial intelligence and design thinking in healthcare. She has been Involved in presenting various management and nursing topics nationally and internationally. She is recently working on Evidence based project to implement Nurse Driven Foleys catheter removal. Currently she is holding a position of Nursing Unit head at Sheikh Khalifa General hospital (JCIA accredited). Part of her job is to conduct mass recruitment trips, oversee nursing operations and monitor Hospital and nursing KPIs. She has 13 years of experience in different hospitals in UAE
Board certified urologic Oncologist with 16 years of academic and clinical experience in Urologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery. I am currently the Chief of Staff at Clemenceau Medical Center in Dubai, where I also work as the Chief of Urology and the Director of Robotic Surgery.
Before moving to Dubai, I was the Director of the Center for Advanced Robotic Surgery at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia as well as the section chief of Urologic Oncology at the Department of Surgery.
I was also heading the Center of Robotic Surgery at the prestigious Case Western Reserve University Hospital in Cleveland Ohio from 2009 until 2012.
My area of expertise is Urologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery. I have pioneered some of innovative techniques in robotic surgery over the last years. In total i have performed more than 2100 robotic surgeries. I strongly believe in a multidisciplinary approach to urological cancer and in integration of clinical and translational research into clinical practice.
Dr. Ahmed Elghiaty is a consultant and Lecturer of Urology in Tanta University, Egypt. His main field of interest is laparascopic and Robotic Urological surgeries. He is a certified Robotic surgeon by intuitive surgical Da’ Vinci system in 2018. He is a former clinical fellow of Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea in laparascopic and robotic surgeries where he completed 2 years of training in Severance hospital which was awarded by Da’ Vinci as the hospital with the biggest volume of Urological Robotic surgery overall the world. Dr. Ahmed is former clinical fellow of Innsbruck medical University, Austria in Urodynamic and voiding dysfunction.
